Climate, committees and connections have made it quite the year at Skog

Skog Media Associates turned two this month and we are hugely grateful to all our clients and colleagues who have supported along the way.

It has been quite the 12-months with our client focus significantly active around climate and sustainability.

We enjoyed a brilliant national media partnership with The Scotsman playing our part in the successful Sustainable Scotland campaign including creating podcasts, newspaper supplements, opinion columns and news articles.

Our work in public affairs and public relations for clients has contributed to papers and consultations submitted to Scottish Parliament committees on Scotland’s climate, sustainability and biodiversity future.

We travelled in an eco friendly tri-brid camper van from the North-East to the Borders and Central belt to produce a podcast for Smart Energy GB as part of our work around COP26 in Glasgow, where we also attended debates and spoke with politicians.

But we went deeper, attending rallies and walking with campaigners in the pouring rain during the Global Climate march and recording a special podcast, taking part in fringe events and speaking to delegates from around the world.

Other activity included business launches, providing comms support and strategic advice on project work for other PR and media consultancies, including our CEO taking up a senior role with content agency Connect to help lead on its digital development work.

We also continue to be an active member and supporter of the Norwegian British Chamber of Commerce and look forward to visiting Norway very soon now that international travel is opening up again.

And it was our great pleasure to support our friends at Heb Celt music festival in producing the Survival Sessions podcast during the pandemic, when they were able to offer a lifeboat to some in the music industry.

Throughout 2021 we are very proud to have also supported good causes including Plan International, Support in Mind, Music Declares, Surfers Against Sewage, Friends of the Earth, Trees for Life, Websters Honey and War Child.

For 2022 and because of events in Ukraine our chosen charities will include MSF, Røde Kors and War Child, while our climate support will offer individual giving to Greenpeace along with our continued grove planting through Trees for Life.

Professionally we look forward to supporting our existing clients and contributing more to the climate debate through our strategic comms expertise, columns, articles and podcasts, and welcoming new partner projects for the year ahead.

For now, tusen takk.
